November Board Meeting

Join us at the Ozark school board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7pm at the OIC, 1600 W. Jackson St., Ozark, MO.

We’d love to hear your input! We also need you to give us feedback to help guide us in the right direction — and avoid the wrong ones.

When the meeting agenda is posted at https://simbli.eboardsolutions.com/SB_Meetings/SB_MeetingListing.aspx?S=99, you’ll find a lot of information under the District Reports, you’ll see some change orders to approve, and also will notice that the Board is discussing the live-streaming of Board meetings. Come let us know what you think about that — does that increased accessibility help you when you aren’t able to attend? Does it happen that you need to later reference something that was explained or presented so you go look it up?

Also, the new policies that were “first read” at last month’s meeting will not be discussed this month due to some technical difficulties, but we hope they will be back up for a final vote in December. There were policies about prohibited substance use, student searches, and other relevant topics — you can find them linked on last month’s agenda at the same spot as above, just select the November meeting agenda and scroll down to “New Business.”

One last puzzling observation that I’ve just made is that Patron Comments has once again been moved to the end of the meeting. What are your thoughts on that? Would you all rather speak at the beginning, to share your thoughts before the Board makes any decisions, or does it work better for you to wait until the end to be heard?

As always, please feel free to contact me — contact info to write any board member is found at https://www.ozarktigers.org/school-board or, if that doesn’t work for you, email me at ChristinaforOzark@yahoo.com

Thank you for the privilege to represent you on the board, and I look forward to seeing you Thursday!

As always, I speak only for myself and do not at all intend to represent the Board to you in anything I write or post.
I do, however, fully intend to do my job representing YOU to the Board!
